Testimonials…
It wasn’t until I attended Nicky’s mini yoga retreat that I realised just how much I needed to step out of my day to day, clear my head, slow down and find peace, calm and strength in the words she read, the meditation she led and the permission she gave to us to just press pause.
The feelings of being overwhelmed and dealing with recent loss almost made me think nostalgically about lockdown and forced escape - but being at the retreat and hearing from other people sharing similar feelings and challenges has made me more determined to give myself the permission to carve out time and space for myself.
I spent a wonderful afternoon, feeling relaxed and carefree; something I haven’t felt in a very long time. Life has definitely been taking it’s toll lately.
Having enjoyed the whole three hours, makes it very hard to say what I enjoyed the most! From the beautiful, thought-provoking words, creating calm images in my head, with meditation bringing in unexpected tears, to stretches that opened up my muscles, posture, and even my mind.
The venue was perfect too, green countryside from every angle and listening to the birds alongside the calming music. A great choice with lots of planning and thought going into it to ensure it added up to an already full and well-planned program, as for the cake and refreshments… an amazing, tasty bonus.
Nicky, you are a miracle worker. I wenrt from very apprehensive to feeling welcomed and comforted, to the point I will definitely be going again.
I was left so relaxed and chilled, I felt lighter with the weight taken off my shoulders; I can’t explain it any other way. Thank You.
Nicky made the afternoon varied with breathwork, Yoga, reading, poetry, a guided meditation and a short break with yummy vegan treats. As the weather was so amazing that day, we all headed out onto the meadow outside for the final relaxation. It was just so lovely to lie there and listen to the birds, although Nicky played music here, I don’t think we needed it as it was just nice to hear the sounds of nature. In fact just thinking about this now, makes me feel calm.
At one point in the week leading up to the retreat afternoon , I did think to myself “I don’t know if I have time to do this” And that is exactly why this was needed. I did have time. I’m glad it was booked in so I made the time. This sort of afternoon is needed for everyone who thinks they don’t have time to relax. Make the time. I’m so glad I did. Thank You Nicky for sharing your time with us and creating this amazing, supportive space.
